National Cocoa Day

There are very few things better than curling up in a blanket with a hot mug of cocoa. So join us in celebrating National Cocoa Day! Everyone has their favorite brands or recipes, but here are some non-traditional twists on cocoa to warm you up:

Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa
There’s no such thing as too much chocolate?! Try adding some chocolate chips or half a chocolate bar to your mug before pouring in the steaming cocoa. This is a lovely after-lunch dessert to sip while finishing up some stuff in the office.

Coconut Hot Cocoa
If you’re a coconut fan, go nuts—add coconut milk, coconut extract or coconut flakes to your hot cocoa (or all three!). Top with some marshmallows and chocolate syrup to make it a truly indulgent treat. This one is perfect for serving to some friends at a low-key holiday get-together.

Peanut Butter Hot Cocoa
It is with a happy heart that we suggest Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate. Throw a tablespoon of peanut butter into your mug of cocoa, along with a little bit of sugar and maybe some vanilla extract. Then grab a blanket and bring it with you to the base of a mountain for winter picnicking.

Espresso Honey Hot Cocoa
There are honey lattes, mocha lattes, and half-hot-cocoa-half-coffee concoctions out there—why not combine them all? Add a shot of espresso, a splash of milk, and a teaspoon of honey to your hot cocoa to help it all go down. Enjoy this one while reading a book or doing some work at home.

  • At the Ford Fiesta De Las Luminarias, experience the warmth of thousands of glowing candles to light your way down the San Antonio River Walk. December 4-December 20. 
  • A Wonderland Christmas. On weekend nights leading up to Christmas, head to Morgan’s Wonderland for a special twinkly-lights & music show, a petting zoo, Santa Claus, and more. The week before Christmas, the event is every evening Thursday-Tuesday. November 27 – December 23, 2015
  • The Nutcracker! This classic tale comes to life with Ballet San Antonio and the San Antonio Symphony.  It’s the perfect family traditional Christmas show. November 11 – December 28, 2015

Clean Your Refrigerator Day

One of these most dreaded office activities is cleaning out the break room refrigerator. You’ll be surprised at how much these tips can ease the process!

Take care of the inside first. Don’t be afraid to throw away old food, and wash dirty containers immediately. Recycle glass and plastic that you don’t want to keep. If there are removable parts, remove them and wash them, too. Scrub them in the sink like you would with dirty dishes. It’s much easier than trying to clean them with paper towels.

Use cleaning spray and towels to thoroughly wipe down the inside walls and shelves of the refrigerator as well as the outside door and handle. Contact us to learn more about our towel service.

It is helpful to dust underneath the refrigerator. Try using a coil brush for this. If you’re feeling determined, move the refrigerator and vacuum underneath it. You will be grateful you did. Try placing an open box of baking soda in the back of the refrigerator to ward off any more smells.

This last tip is possibly the most important, and the hardest to do: Clean the refrigerator more thoroughly, more often. You will begin to feel good about using and cleaning it instead of experiencing that all-too-familiar dread!

Damage Waiver for Pennies?!
