We are Thankful For…

2015 has been a great year for us at Service Uniform! As Thanksgiving approaches, we have so many things to be thankful for.

First of all, we are truly lucky to be a thriving family-owned company here in the beautiful city of San Antonio. We feel grateful to work in such an amazing business community.

But people make the place. Thanks to our dedicated employees and loyal customers, we have been able to run our business since 1969, continuing the Putegnat family legacy.

Since we started Service Uniform, it has been our goal to provide the best service in this industry. Our hard-working employees have helped us to cultivate the steady and trusting relationships we have with long-standing customers, providing the speed, quality, and honesty that our customers have come to expect.

And we are grateful for Thanksgiving, for giving us this chance to express our gratitude!

5 Strategies to Win the War on Germs

Changes in weather mean cold and flu season. Don’t allow your office to lose productivity with a lot of sick days. Battle the germs!

Here are some tips to stay healthy this season:

Disinfect your keyboard. According to a recent study, keyboards can be the most germ-ridden objects in the office. Clean the sides of keys with cotton swabs dipped in isopropyl alcohol, and (with the keyboard detached, or laptop turned off) wipe down the whole thing with an alcohol-moistened cloth. Using a can of compressed air to blow the dust out first is also a good idea.

Wash your hands thoroughly. It’s true that washing your hands is one of the best things you can do to battle germs. When washing, you should thoroughly scrub your hands for at least 45 seconds to get the full benefits.

Use hand sanitizer. If you’re going to use the gel-based kind, try to rub it in for at least 30 seconds in order to eliminate most of the germs.

Get some sleep. There are some things that keep us healthier whether we come into contact with germs or not. Sleep is one of them. According to the Archives of Internal Medicine, people who get eight hours or more of sleep a night are three times less likely to catch a cold.

Eat your fruits and veggies! Eating healthy is equally as important as getting enough sleep. There are antioxidants in foods like cranberries, blackberries, beans, and artichokes that keep your immune system strong!

By disinfecting workspaces and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it is possible to keep your office environment hygienic and keep those sick days to a minimum.

Color Psychology For Your Uniforms

Have you ever wondered how much color affects the perception of your company? Studies have shown that the color can be one of the most effective ways to draw in customers.

Displaying your company colors on packaging, products, and in your logo can create a sense of unity throughout your company, especially when brand colors are extended to employee uniforms. Do your company ideals match the attributes of your colors?

  • Green- Growth, Natural, Health
  • Orange- Playful, Innovative, Enthusiasm
  • Red- Excitement, Intensity, Confidence
  • Yellow- Happiness, Optimism, Well-Being
  • Purple- Royalty, Prosperity, Premium
  • Gray- Practical, Scientific, Neutral
  • Brown- Reliable, Stable, Secure
  • Black- Power, Strength, Intelligence
