3 Outrageous Things We Found in the Laundry!

We understand how easy it is to forget things in your pockets before sending them to the wash. However, there are some odd items that have left behind for us to find! What are you guilty of losing in the laundry?

  1. The Incomplete Business Transaction –We were driving back to the office after a typical pick-up, when we received an atypical phone call. A customer frantically called us about an envelope he had left in his uniform pocket. An envelope filled with $3,000! Our driver quickly pulled over, went through the customer’s dirty clothes and found the envelope filled with cash. The customer was ecstatic to have all the money returned, he called the local radio station and shared his story.
  1. The Missing Wedding Band – This has happened on more than one occasion – with the culprits both the husband and wife. Inside shirt pockets, work pants, overalls or aprons. Most people take their wedding band off to wash their hands, in hopes to not lose it down the drain or overflowing trash bin. Unfortunately, the busy day continues and they forget to put the ring back on. Don’t worry, we hold all rings until the rightful owner is identified.
  1. The Collector – It is easy to grab a handful of mints at a restaurant as you leave and stuff them in your pocket without much thought, but it is not so easy to fill your pockets with lighters. Between pants, a jacket, and a coat, a customer managed to have 27 lighters. This situation was comical for all involved, including the customer who seemed surprised himself!

Try to keep yourself out of these sticky situations and thoroughly check your pockets before sending your uniforms back to us.

The Perfect Texas Road Trip

Summer is a time for vacations and adventures. Here in Texas, we have access to so many destinations, that we want to hit all of them! Here is our suggestion for putting together the ultimate Texas road trip.

Slovacek’s

Start your road trip out on the right foot by eating a tasty snack. Located in West, Texas, Slovacek’s is home to the most famous kolaches and summer sausage in Texas. Stop here to stretch your legs and enjoy the Czech pastry, filled with delicious local fruit, cream cheese and Texas pecans.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Have you driven through the beautiful Texas countryside and seen beautiful wildflowers littering the sides of the road? You have Lady Bird Johnson to thank for that. Former President Lyndon B. Johnson’s wife set in motion The Beautification Act of 1965, which called for control of outdoor advertising, and that trucks drove across Texas highways, spewing loads of wildflower seeds along the road to beautify the highways. Now, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, located in Austin, Texas conducts innovative plant research, develops educational materials and consults on landscape development projects all over the state. Tour the grounds and learn all about the many wildflowers of Texas.

Odessa Meteor Crater

Did you know the second largest crater caused by a meteor in the United States is right in your own backyard in Odessa, Texas? It is! Measuring about 550 feet in diameter, this is one void you’ll want to scream into.

Marfa Lights

Since the early 19th century, ranchers, apaches, high school sweethearts and famous meteorologists alike have reported seeing sourceless lights dance on the horizon southeast of Marfa, Texas, in an uninhabited area that is extremely difficult to traverse. Sometimes these mystery lights are red, sometimes blue, sometimes white, and they often appear randomly throughout the night. A phenomenon to behold!

Here at Service Uniform, we love going on adventures. These are just a few of our favorite Texas spots to include on our ultimate road trip. Let us know where your favorite Colorado road trip spots are on Facebook!

Why Accuracy is Important to Our Customers

Accuracy and reliability: two fundamental values we hold close here at Service Uniform. Accuracy is not only important to us from a business standpoint, but it is important to you, our customers. Here is how our process and our standards affect and improve your business.

Accuracy, or a lack of it, will have a huge impact on the overall experience of customers. When accuracy is maintained, the result is a happy customer that will be a long-time advocate of the brand–that’s our customers! We take order accuracy very seriously at Service uniforms, because we know you depend on us to get your employees’ uniforms to you on time, every time. We also ensure that your uniforms are properly cleaned, inspected, and replaced if needed

How are we able to guarantee accuracy? The answer is simple, RFID Technology. Our Blue Chip System® works with both barcodes and RFID chips at the same time to make sure we know exactly where your uniforms are at all times from the start or finish of our cleaning process.

How does the Blue Chip System® work? It uses two computer-aided sorts that put garments in perfect route, account, and wearer order. Each garment is identified the second it enters our facility. This technology allows us to automate service orders on repairs, keep track of garments through the cleaning process, and return your garments on time, with 100% accuracy.

The Look of Summer Uniforms

If you’re under the age of 10, you can hear his jingle from a mile away. No, we’re not talking about Santa, were talking about the ice cream man! With the summer heat in full swing, who isn’t craving a sweet, cold treat? As an adult his jingle may not be the song of choice, but his 1950s-styled uniform is kindly packaged with summer memories and nostalgia. Here are some of our favorite uniforms of summer and why we love them!

  1. Ice Cream Man

That white hat, that button-up shirt, who doesn’t love this classic uniform?! You won’t catch this guy in his usual uniform past Labor Day, the Ice Cream Man takes a big risk wearing all white at his job, but it only makes his job more interesting. Bet you can’t eat an entire chocolate ice cream cone without spilling!

  1. Lifeguard

Ah, those hot summer days spent at the community pool. Who can forget those? And not only is a Lifeguards uniform appropriate for their job at the pool, the bright red color keeps swimmers safe as they are easy to see. Even if you have water in your eyes, it’s not hard to miss a big red blob swimming toward you!

  1. Golf Caddy

The Roaring 20’s provided America with a big change in fashion style, but they also gave us the classic Golf Caddy uniform of tall argyle socks, jodhopper pants, shirt and tie, and newsboy cap. There wasn’t a golf course in the country that didn’t have a golf caddy walking around the course in this incredible getup. Oh my, how the times have changed!

  1. Baseball Umpire

The sport that once held the title of America’s Pastime, Major League Baseball will forever be the best sport to play in the summer. And what uniform is most indicative of this playful summer activity than the Baseball Umpire’s uniform? The padded black top, grey slacks, and protective facemask belong to no other sporting official. When we see an umpire’s uniform, we know it’s summertime!

  1. Gardener

As soon as Spring hits, it’s time to break out the gardening uniform to make sure the bulbs get planted on time for May showers. Breathable, fabric gloves, a big straw hat, and often a long-sleeve shirt help protect avid gardeners from too much sun exposure, thusly reminding us that Summer is just around the corner.

Whether your business has a fleet of ice cream trucks, or a fleet of landscape artists, Service Uniform has the perfect summer uniform for your employees to stay protected and happy during warmer weather.
