3 Non-Traditional Marketing Tactics You Should Try This Month

There are a million ways to market your business, and in the sea of voices, it can be hard to know which strategy is best. Traditional marketing tactics like print and television ads never hurt, but sometimes your business needs something fresh to reach a new audience. Consider these progressive marketing tactics to give your company a leg up on the competition.

Social Media

Most businesses have a Facebook page, but you may not be using social media to its full marketing potential. Choose the platforms that make the most sense for your brand, whether that be Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn. Don’t be afraid to try out emerging applications like Snapchat, Periscope, or a weekly email newsletter to give your business an extra edge. New features like Snapchat filters and live video offer a new dimension of social interaction with your client base.

When using social media, it’s also important to remember that it’s not just about putting out information—it’s about interacting with your clientele. Take the time to respond to customers’ comments, follow other businesses, and monitor hashtags relevant to your business to find potential clients.

Networking Events

Invite your customers in after hours to for a launch party for a new product, a grand opening for a new store, or a celebration of a company milestone. These are all opportunities to share your successes with your clients and interact with them in a more personal setting, which helps put a face to the name behind your brand.

Sponsoring events and supporting local organizations will also bring awareness to your brand while showing your customers that you care about your community. Support a local little league team, host a fundraiser for a hometown charity, or pitch in for a summer festival.

Using Your Logo

Your logo is the most concise, memorable representation of your business, so you want to use it to your advantage. Make sure that your logo is eye-catching and memorable, while still being simple. Place your logo everywhere from uniforms to coffee cups to floor mats, and use creative logo placement to leave a lasting impression on future clientele and create an image to associate with your brand.

With these non-traditional marketing strategies, your business will be reaching new audiences in no time.

Looking Sharp for Wedding Season with Top Trending Styles

The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and love is in the air—the summer wedding season is almost upon us. These happy occasions are the perfect opportunity to flaunt your summer style (without overshadowing the bride and groom, of course). Follow these summer fashion tips to look and feel your best as a wedding attendee this season.

Incorporate Color and Pattern

Obviously you don’t want to be caught wearing white at someone else’s wedding, which is why this is your chance to don some of the hottest color trends of the season. The most popular hues on the runway this year are pink and all forms of iridescent pink, blue, and green, while bold stripes also made an appearance. If you don’t want to go full color, consider adding a colored shoe, necklace, or belt.

Let the BoHo Flow

If the wedding you’re attending is a little more casual, consider going for a Bohemian vibe. Patchwork dresses, shirts, and skirts will have you looking completely on-trend for this season. Plus, flowy BoHo fabrics are breathable and cool to keep you comfortable during outdoor ceremonies.

Go Full Bloom

Yes, we know; florals are hardly a revolutionary idea for spring and summer, but the fact is that a floral print is a warm weather classic that never goes out of style. For the ladies, a floral print sundress always radiates sunshine, but you can easily incorporate your blossoms through accessories like a clutch handbag or a floral waist belt. Men can try adding a bit of pizzazz with a floral tie or pocket square to brighten up a typical suit or tux.

Mix it Up

Uniforms have a time and place, but unless you’re a bridesmaid or groomsman, a wedding is not one of them. Wedding attire doesn’t necessarily have to mean the standard dress and heels or suit and tie. Women could try a chic printed dress pant paired with a summery, solid-colored blouse, while men could consider a patterned button-down or colored vest to add some interest to their ensemble.

Hey Chip! Sorting Your Uniforms

Hello! It’s me, Chip. This week, I’m going to talk to you a little more about Service Uniform’s 100% accurate Blue Chip System®—the sorting process. Come along with me, your Chief Chip Coordinator, to learn how your business could benefit from our system.

Before we get started, I would like to explain how the Blue Chip System® works. It works through Radio Frequency ID technology, or RFID, which identifies each piece of clothing through every step of the process, from pickup, to cleaning, to delivery.

After your uniforms have been scanned for identification, washed with our special formula, run through the dryer, and hung, our RFID system sorts the uniforms into their proper place. As they exit the finishing tunnel, the uniforms are scanned to separate the clothing by user. The RFID antenna visually and audibly lets the operator know which conveyor hook to put the garment on so that it can be transported to the next step of the sorting process.

Next, the uniforms are sorted into account and wearer order before they are ready for inspection. Our certified garment inspectors examine every single garment to make sure they have been thoroughly cleaned and in tip top condition. If a garment needs to be repaired, the inspector will complete the repair immediately so that the uniform can be returned on time and in perfect condition.

The RFID system helps us keep track of the repairs and make sure that any needed repairs are taken care of—all of which will show up on your customer-friendly Blue Chip Summary Report. Once all the uniforms have been examined and mended if necessary, they are bundled by wearer and run through our bundle scanner to ensure the garment count matches our count from the beginning of the process.

And just like that, your uniforms are clean, counted, and ready to be delivered! From our automated RFID technology to our expert operators and garment inspectors, the Blue Chip System® ensures a uniform never gets lost in the mix.

5 Weekend Activities Funded by Your Tax Return

Getting a refund is like depositing an extra big paycheck for some of us, and that typically calls for a celebration. Tax season is a great time to celebrate your team return. Here are some fun-filled weekend trips you can enjoy with your tax return this year.

  1. Do a home improvement project

Remember those new cabinets you’ve been wanting to install but haven’t had the money to spend on them? Tax season is the perfect opportunity to update your kitchen, bathroom, or outdoor space for the upcoming summer months. You can even get the whole family involved and make it a bonding experience!

  1. Go hiking/camping

Hiking and camping are great ways to both exercise and bond as a family. If you have a few adventurous spirits in your group, hiking typically involves some rock climbing as well. You can turn those rock climbing experiences into trust-building activities.

  1. Stay-cation

Sometimes, getting out of the house is all you need to gain a little relaxation. If you’re coming down with a case of cabin-fever, rent a hotel room and get away for the weekend. This allows you to reap the same rewards as a vacation without taking on the full financial burden of a vacation.

  1. Relax at the spa

Taking a day or two to relax at the spa is the perfect stress reliever. Bring your family, especially the ones that claim they don’t like going. This is a great opportunity to learn new relaxation methods as well.

  1. Visit family or friends

Spending time with family and friends builds connections and makes for special memories. With the help of your tax return, you can make the next time you bond with family and friends even more special than the last.

At Service Uniform, we go out of our way to show our employees how much we value their efforts. We encourage our employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance. That’s one of many reasons why it pays to work at Service Uniform. This tax season, treat your family like we treat our staff at Service Uniform. Celebrate everything you’ve accomplished this year by treating yourself.
