We Wear White after Labor Day
We’ve all heard the rule “no white after Labor Day”, but does anyone follow it? At Service Uniform, we did a little research to try and figure out where this fashion rule came from.
Here are two theories:
Theory 1: Rich people wore white.
There are a lot of theories that go back to the late 1800s. Tensions were high after the Civil War and many rich families tried to show off their wealth through their extravagant clothing. It’s rumored that groups of well-off women would come up with fashion rules to tell the wealthy from the “imposters”.
Theory 2: White has always been summer fashion.
Everyone knows that white clothing reflects the summer sun better than dark clothing. Some people think that the fashion rule came from people naturally shedding their light colored clothing in the fall for darker shades. Sounds simple enough.
Whatever the reason, we think that fashion rules can be broken if it’s necessary for your company. At Service Uniform, we understand that your company is different from the rest. That’s why we’re determined to create the right image for your company. So whether that image includes red, navy, or even white, give us a call and we’ll put together the right uniform rental plan for you.
